This painting is a part of Anna Athena’s series, titled "The Hero's Journey”, a lifelong project to create a large-scale tarot deck consisting of 78 “cards” with different paintings representing a theme or challenge she faced during her personal growth journey.
The Magician is card no. 1 and the first character that The Fool encounters. Here he/she becomes familiar with the four elements and discovers that he/she has influence in the world around them. The Magician teaches the art of creation, manifestation, and alchemy. The Fool learns that when these elements are brought together, they transform each other and the way everything is connected.
