Alveston Gallery Notting Hill is an eclectic art space based in London’s Notting Hill

Founded by Fergus Downey in 2016, the focus has always been on discovering emerging artistic talent and giving back.

In doing this, the gallery has successfully supported artists at the start of their careers by giving them a space to display their work and the means to create more; eight years later our artists have garnered national and international recognition through prizes, museum acquisitions, and media attention.

The gallery is founded on an open-door philosophy that places accessibility, authenticity, and personal connection at the heart of the experience. Rather than prescribing what clients should collect or follow, the gallery encourages each visitor to trust their own instincts and emotional responses when engaging with art.
about the gallery

Art That Starts Conversations

Today, Alveston Gallery Notting Hill continues to evolve while remaining true to its founding ethos: discovering exceptional emerging talent and providing artists with the opportunity, visibility, and support needed to realise their full potential. Through its carefully curated exhibitions and unwavering dedication to artistic development, the gallery has become an important presence within London’s contemporary art scene and a trusted destination for collectors and art enthusiasts alike.

What began as a passion-driven project has grown into a respected gallery with a reputation for identifying exceptional talent early. Over the past eight years, Alveston Gallery has played a pivotal role in launching and nurturing the careers of numerous artists, many of whom have since achieved national and international recognition. Through exhibitions, collaborations, and ongoing mentorship, the gallery has helped artists gain exposure to collectors, institutions, and wider audiences, enabling them to expand both creatively and professionally.
Our story

Discover art without boundaries

Clients are invited to let their eye guide them, choosing works that resonate personally rather than relying solely on trends, status, or external expectations. This approach creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere in which both seasoned collectors and first-time buyers feel equally comfortable exploring and discovering art.

At the core of the gallery’s ethos is the belief that art should be meaningful and accessible to everyone. By fostering an environment free from intimidation or exclusivity, the gallery allows visitors from a wide range of backgrounds to connect with artworks in ways that feel genuine and personal. Whether a client is an experienced collector, a casual admirer, or someone purchasing their very first piece, the gallery values individual taste and encourages thoughtful engagement with every artwork on display.
