Evelyn Albrow

Evelyn Albrow hand-builds her vessels in crank clay and juxtaposes their large, abstract forms with ethereal illustrations. Fascinated by British folklore, her decoration centres around the fantastical qualities of medieval imagery.

After graduating from Bristol University with a BA in History of Art, Albrow gained a Masters in Illustration from Camberwell College of Art (a part of UAL) where she cemented her love for historical narratives. She is inspired by museum artefacts that tell a story, as well as the humour of medieval marginalia, which imbue her work with a similar sense of playfulness and escapism.

Evelyn Albrow lives in Sheffield and works out of the city’s Yorkshire Art Space. She has exhibited her work extensively throughout the UK and has run numerous workshops for young people in Sheffield, London and Bristol.
