Three Little Lambs by Teddy Hansen

Why wolves aren’t too bad for a sheep farmer:
Roccale are spiked collars to protect Italian sheep-herding dogs from wolves.

In the centre sits the sheepdog. On either side of it are poppies, a common flower in Tuscany that also represents bloodshed. Behind the dog is a sunflower; common to the Tuscan hills, it represents positivity and resembles a lion’s mane. Not only close up will the wolves be deterred by the spikes, but from afar the dog may be mistaken for a lion. Between the legs of the dog is a dog being supported by a roaring lion.

To the left of the dog, you can see the silhouettes of three sheep with their heads down, appearing to bravely move forward in the direction the dog is facing. To the right, three wolves are cowering from its glare.
