Jubilee by Simon Dredge

Jubilee is Jarmen’s second film. The title is a reference to the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

Queen Elizabeth I is transported to 1970s Britain, where society has become broken and shattered. She witnesses the decay of London by watching the activities of a group of young nihilistic people.

This portrayal of a dismembered and disjointed world was and still is pertinent.
