At the age of 52, Jarman died from AIDS complications in St Bartholomew’s Hospital on the 19th of January, 1994.
Making this collection at the age of 52, realising that it’s still such a young age and there is still so much to do creatively and personally, I can’t help but think about what Derek would be doing now. What would he say about the last 30 years since his death? Would he have become a ‘national treasure’? Would he be absolutely appalled by that idea? How would his films have changed, and what type of films would he be making? What would he think of the world today?
The eyes are really focused on you and making sure that you live your life to the fullest and live the life you desire.
